How to Start An Area Youth Ministry Network

1. Phase I: Discuss the advantages of joining a Youth Ministry Network

a. Call area Youth Ministers/Leaders and discuss advantages of joining a Network

- Develops a system for exchanging Youth Ministry ideas
- Develops a support chain for area Youth Ministers
- Allows you to support each other’s youth ministry events
- Gives your youth a larger network of Christian friends
- Gives you a consolidated Youth Minister and Guest Speaker Roster

b. Share Purpose Driven Youth Ministry, Your First Two Years in Youth Ministry, and Josh McDowell's Counseling Handbook for Teens with other Youth Ministers
c. E-mail and exchange youth ministry outreach events
d. Share other youth ministry resource information to include the National Network of Youth Ministers and National Network of Urban Youth Workers web sites

2. Phase II: Discuss the advantages of conducting joint Youth Ministry Summits

a. Discuss possible number of summits per year (Monthly or Quarterly) 
b. Discuss possible topics for summits
c. Discuss possible formats for summits
d. Discuss alternating church sites for summits

3. Phase III: Discuss ways to make the Network more versatile and effective

a. Verify which outreach activities you can fellowship with one another
b. Develop a list of everyone’s individual youth ministries for Conference and Revival Planning
c. Help each other develop youth ministry web sites or an overall network web site
d. Develop a plan to link up your youth ministry web sites to one another

4. Phase IV: Discuss the advantages of having an Area Wide Youth Retreat/Conference

a. Discuss possible Retreat/Conference format and workshops (One Day, Weekend, or 3-Days)
b. Discuss possible Retreat/Conference sites
c. Discuss possible Retreat/Conference costs and how to handle registration
d. Discuss possible Retreat/Conference speakers and workshop facilitators

e. Or try to sponsor/attend an Urban Youth Worker Institute RELOAD Conference

5. Phase V:  Register your Network with other Youth Networks across the Country
